Aluminium 6061-T6
6061-T6 is a precipitation-hardened aluminium alloy containing magnesium and silicon. With a tensile strength of ~310 MPa, excellent corrosion resistance, and good machinability, it is the go-to alloy for structural and general engineering in India. It is widely available from domestic mills (Hindalco, Balco, Jindal) and is the alloy most commonly cross-compared with 6082-T6.
